Reel Link Films was founded in 2007 in response to the need for premium quality, socially relevant, compelling story telling for the screen. Reel Link is positioned to become a market leader in documentary filmmaking by combining superior executive management talent with seasoned production know-how and cutting-edge distribution strategies. Reel Link Films is partnering with the best and brightest filmmaking talent in Northern California and across the United States.
Reel Link's first feature documentary, Race to Nowhere, had its world premier at the Mill Valley Film Festival in October, 2009. The film opened in theaters in New York and Los Angeles in September, 2010 and is currently playing across the country as part of a six month public screening campaign in theaters and semi-theatrical venues such as school auditoriums and local community centers.
Through the film and the related social action campaign, we intend to raise awareness, change the dialogue and empower individuals to take the lead in creating a vision for change around the issues shaping our children’s lives and education. Using the film as the centerpiece for the social action campaign, we intend to activate communities, influence decision makers and opinion leaders and create the political will to transform education, redefine success for young people and make their health and well-being a national priority. Reel Link Films is teaming up with individuals, schools, organizations and not-for-profits committed to making a difference in the lives of our children and their education.
By giving young people a voice in Race to Nowhere, Reel Link Films hopes to raise interest among young people in documentary films and the potential for positive impact of active media.
